I've never bothered with anything that is based solely on
tool bar results, as the audience is too limited. Do many

If you want to improve your site Alexa then you need to do work on forums, blogs, and RSS. Alexa calculate your site new visits. Alexa changes with new IPs coming to your site. If you are still able to manage unique traffic on your site then you will see change in your Alexa Rank.

Alexa is a very complicated search engine because it measure the unique traffic and then decrease the Alexa rank. If you want to get unique traffic then use social media and add daily at least two to three buddies. this will help you to decrease your Alexa.
